You can now visit the culturally enriching Capital of India, Delhi, through a special tailor-made tour that covers both Old and New Delhi all within the duration of a day!
After you have had a good night's sleep and a ravishing breakfast in the morning at your hotel, our chauffeur-driven car will pick you up from your hotel or market, hence commencing your tour with us. He will be driving you around in a comfortable air-conditioned car for the entire day, saving you the trouble of Delhi's local commutation.
We will begin the tour with the gloriously famous Red Fort in Old Delhi. It was the base of the Mughal emperors for almost 200 years prior to 1856! And as you are well aware, it is where the Prime Minister hoists our flag on Independence Day each year, so it is definitely not worth missing. The domes and floral decorations that it possesses are an exemplary example of Mughal architecture.
We will then continue our tour to Humayun's tomb in New Delhi which is a marvelous example of Central Asian and Persian styles of Islamic architecture. The tomb of the Mughal king was ordered to be built by his loving wife- empress Bega Begum and was added to UNESCO's world heritage sites in the year 1993.
After a small insight into what is bygone with the Mughal era, we will visit what is present and most important- Our Rashtrapati Bhawan. Standing in the capital of the country, you cannot afford to miss the treasured President House. Prior bookings have to be made for visiting the same, which would be taken care of by us, so you need not worry. Parts of it like the main building, central lawn, clock tower, stables, garages and other gardens etc. are all open for visitors on different days of the week. So which part you would get to see, depends on your fortune!
Keeping up with the patriotic spirit, we would be paying a visit to the India Gate which was built in 1921 to commemorate the soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in the First World War.
Giving all the heavy sightseeing some break, we will take you to Jantar Mantar where you can explore a different territory altogether by indulging in some astronomy with the help of the instruments it houses.
Saving you from getting overly tired and hungry, we will then take you to a nice air-conditioned restaurant where you can peacefully enjoy a satisfying meal before we move forward with all the heavy touring. We will make sure you get a taste of Delhi's true North Indian delicacies!
After filling your heart and stomach, we can then either visit the legendary Jama Masjid in Central Delhi, which was built by Shah Jahan or the famous Parliament House and Raj Ghat in New Delhi. Raj Ghat is the memorial of the loved Father of the Nation, Gandhiji. It also houses memorials of other personalities like Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri etc.
We will take you to the magnificent Qutub Minar. Its construction commenced under the rule of the first Muslim ruler of Delhi, Qutub-ud-din Aibak and was completed under the reign of Firoz Shah Tughlak. It still stands 73m high and is still equally celebrated and appreciated.
We would then take you to the reverential Birla Temple (also known as Laxmi Narayan temple) which was inaugurated by our Bapu on the condition that all castes would be allowed to visit it. It is situated quite near to one of Delhi's most famous marketplaces- Connaught Place. So you can shop till you drop after your visit to the temple. On the other hand, instead of Birla Temple and Connaught Place, you may even visit Lotus Temple which is known not only for being an abode to Gods but also for its unique architecture in the shape of a lotus. So you may take that decision and our driver will gladly follow your orders and take you to whichever place you decide.
Once you are done with touring the temples and shopping, our driver will drop you back at your hotel or homestay, marking the end of our journey with you! We hope to give you an enjoyable and memorable tour of our city.
